Ostriches live in woodlands and grasslands.

Rueppell's korhaan

Endemic to Namibia, it lives in very arid stony desert areas.

White-winged black korhaan

Lives in dry grassland.

Kori bustard

This huge bustard prefers to walk rather than fly. The male in the center photograph is courting females.

Secretary bird

Usually seen walking through grasslands.

Black crow

Common in arid areas.

Pied crow

Fearless and common.

Southern yellow-billed hornbill

Common in dry bushveld.

Helmeted guineafowl

Common; goes to waterholes to drink every evening.

Egyptian geese

Found in Etosha and the central highlands near water.

Grey heron

Common near water.

Peacock

Raised at Otjikoto.
