Black guillemots

The black guillemot or tystie, Cepphus grylle, is a medium-sized alcid. Adults are black with a white wing patch. They breed on rocky shores, cliffs, and islands in the North Atlantic, laying their eggs in rocky sites near the water. There are five subspecies.
