The White Mountains in October, one of our favorite settings.

White-water slalom racing on the Merrimack River. This particular race took place on June 8, 2003, just below the Amoskeag Dam in Manchester. We made an effort to photograph each participant, and hope we didn't omit anyone, because it sure looked like fun! The secret to photographing slalom racing is to position yourself opposite a red gate, since the racers must traverse those gates going upstream and so will be moving slower.

The Winni Slalom took place on 14-15 June 2025 on the Winnipesauke River in Northfield/Tilton.

The Fields of Lupines Festival in Franconia, Sugar Hill, Bethlehem, Twin Mountain, and Bretton Woods takes place in mid-June.
