We took an underwater photography trip to the Philippines in December 2016. We planned photography of the Verde Island Passage from Puerto Galera followed by concentrated macro photography at Anilao. The typhoon rearranged our plans a little.
The Republic of the Philippines is an archipelago is Southeast Asia located in the western Pacific Ocean, It consists of 7641 islands, with a total area of about 300,000 square kilometers. It is the world's 14th most populous country, with a population of over 112 million. It is bounded by the South China Sea to the west, the Philippine Sea to the east, and the Celebes Sea to the south. It shares maritime borders with Taiwan to the north, Japan to the northeast, Palauto the east and southeast, Indonesia to the south, Malaysia to the southwest, Vietnam to the west, and China to the northwest.
We returned to the Philippines in March, 2023, for a macro (muck diving) underwater photographic trip to Dumaguete.
We returned in November of 2024 for some more diving at Anilao with our niece Alita and then amateur radio from DU0A in Batangas.
